Why is the learning-to-drive process so important?
| FACT: | Today;s driving environment is much more aggressive, dense and dangerous than ever before! |
| FACT: | Your auto insurance is going to jump an estimated 250-350%! Just because your teen turns 16 and gets a driver's license. (This is BEFORE a ticket or accident!) |
| FACT: | The prerequisites for a teen to get a driver's license are considered a "joke"... BY TEENS! |
| FACT: | Auto accidents cause more fatalities and life changing injuries to teens than all other causes... COMBINED! |
CONCLUSION: |
|
THE TEEN DRIVER MUST LEARN MORE THAN HOW TO MAKE A RIGHT AND LEFT TURN!
The teen must learn car control skills such as skid recover, accident avoidance, maneuvers, crisis braking techniques, dynamic limitations of the car, and backing control.
MOST ACCIDENTS ARE AVOIDABLE!
Most auto "accidents" are not "accidental"... they are "caused"! If the driver and car are up to it, most "accidents" are avoidable.
THE TEEN DRIVER MUST EXPERIENCE DIFFERENT DRIVING SITUATIONS AND CONDITIONS!
The only way the teen can learn about driving in different conditions is to experience them. The question becomes one of when and where they will experience more dangerous situations and will he/she be prepared.
DRIVING PRIVLEGES MUST BE "EARNED"
The value placed upon the driver's license is in direct proportion to what he/she has to do to "earn" and keep it!
THE ATTITUDE OF TEEN DRIVERS IS AS IMPORTANT AS THEIR SKILL LEVEL!
The conclusions reached by teens during this process are the foundation of their attitude toward driving for the rest of their lives.
THE LEARNING-TO-DRIVE PROCESS IS A "RITE OF PASSAGE"!
Learning to drive is the most appropriate rite of passage. It can be either a postive, in which the teen learns about driving responsibly; or a negative, in which the teen demonstrates their "independence" by reckless driving.
"After the driving instruction began I wandered around from station to station observing and began to realize that this wasn't just a driving school but an awesome driving school. Watching these teens go through the different excercises over and over and watching them get better is too hard for me to explain. I was so excited to see what just a little of the right instruction could do for these kids. And I was excited you can imagine what the kids behind the wheels were feeling. To see their eyes light up and the expression on their faces as they learned is too much for words."

"Since she attended MasterDrive, her driving skills could be termed as instinctive. She has perfected, at least to my expectations, the art of defensiveness—that is the key to effective driving. My husband, a "backseat driver" has paid her the ultimate compliment, he'd rather ride with Stacy than anyone else!"
Bonny Wiley, Parent
"Crista has continued daily to talk of the skills she developed from your clinic and expressed how others (friends that she rides with or follows to school) could benefit. Today I contacted our insurance company about discounts for Crista completing the clinic. I was very pleased to find it was considerable and in the long run will more than pay for the cost of the clinic. Thank you! I know in my heart Crista is safer behind the wheel today than she was before your clinic."

"I must tell you something interesting about my daughter. She was not truly excited about going to the course, in fact, I think she was a little embarrased about having to tell her friends that she was taking driving training. The interesting thing was that after Saturday's session I don't think anything could have kept her away from the Sunday session. We have talked many times since the course and she really has an interest in being a good, smooth driver. In fact, last Sunday she wanted to drive home from church to show me what she had learned. I hope she doesn't mind me sharing something with you that she wrote to me in a valentine. 'Thanks for pushing me to excel in things. And thanks for making me do this driving thing last weekend. It was probably the funnest, most meaningful experience of my whole life.' Thanks!"
Steve Johnson, Parent
"She was real reluctant to go—she already knew how to drive and felt she was a good driver—but we felt it would be a good experience. Afterwards, she was exhausted—and walked into the house stating—'This is THE best experience I've ever had.'"
Marlene Johnson, Parent
"As parents, we do what we can—we teach the basics and we warn our kids about what 'might' happen and what to do under certain circumstances. But there is no way to put them into difficult situations where they don't have time to think—only to react. MasterDrive is a great way to fill the gap. They help kids learn how to control themselves and their cars in panic situations."
Judity Conser, Parent
"I thought the experience was su[er and I would for sure tell my friends to try it! Excellent instructors, and a general great time. I learned an unbelievable amount. Thanks!"
Ashley Jorstad, Student
"The skills I learned will probably save a life someday. Mine."
Matt Ames, Student
"...It doesn't just teach the basics like most drivers ed courses. It teaches you defensive skills that are more important than most people think. It's also more fun than you'd ever imagine.l"
Dara Carpenter, Student
"This was great! You gave me so much! I feel so much more confident in control. This program is a must... The program is a 12 on a scale of 10!"
